Six years as a private business consultant and trainer. Five years in a Midwestern community college as Director of its Small Business Assistance Center acting as business consultant and trainer. Seven years in the implementation and maintenance of Total Quality Management. Over twenty-eight years as an adult educator in private business, higher education and USAF. Two years as a human factors engineer developing mainframe computer applications, writing documentation and training materials, and delivering hands on training to employees of AT&T.

PRIVATE CONSULTING AND TRAINING PRACTICE - Oct. 94 to Present Time

Established a private practice in training and consulting in Southwest Nebraska. Primary emphasis in training: group and management problem solving, effective self-management and coaching employees for success on the job. Also train individuals in how to use various software products, the Internet, Internet commerce and presently developing an Internet consulting practice as well as building a Virtual Internet Business Community. 

HILLCREST NURSING HOME  - Jan. 96 to August 97

Director of Special Projects and Quality Management - Chief duties included management and employee training in quality, conflict, process improvement and  computers.   In addition, raised funds for the two following projects: stained glass windows ($16k) and child day care center. Wrote the specifications for a network computer upgrade and expansion for the facility.

McCOOK COMMUNITY COLLEGE - Oct. 89 through July 94

Director of The Small Business Assistance Center - a consulting and training service to businesses in Southwest Nebraska. Position required writing grants and business plans, researching and developing educational workshops and delivering them to business and industry. Worked with business leaders to strengthen and improve their competitive positions. During this period taught graduate and undergraduate level courses for University of Nebraska at Kearney. Worked with surrounding small rural communities to strengthen their infrastructures. Was a member of and participated in the development of Southwest Nebraska Community Builders and the Nebraska Development Network. Nebraska Community Builders has since been replicated over the entire state following the successful pilot project in the southwest region. Established a local REAP Chapter and an after school Junior Achievement project in the McCook area.

KUGLER COMPANY EXPERIENCE - Feb. 89 to Aug. 89

Director of Human Resources, Quality, Training and Recruitment - for approximately one hundred people located in three states, head quartered in McCook, Nebraska. Centralized all personnel type functions and training. Due to philosophical difference in management styles required for TQM to be successful, separated from the company in August of 1989.

BELL SYSTEM EXPERIENCE:

AT&T-COMMUNICATIONS-  Nov. 83 to Feb. 89

District Quality Training Consultant - for a Kansas City, Missouri and Atlanta, Georgia District of approximately 140 employees. Primary duty was to organize, teach and facilitate Total Quality Management in the organization.

Human Factors Engineer - at the AT&T Kansas City Data Center. Primary responsibility was to function as a team member to design and maintain company wide mainframe computer systems. Role was to research and interview customers to determine their needs, design CRT screens and output reports, develop training material and deliver hands on training to end users.

Midwestern Region Construction Budget Coordinator - This position coordinated the preparation of the Midwestern Region's Construction Budget (approx. $150M) semiannually. Involved the development of interfaces between districts within the Region as well as acting as liaison and trainer with Headquarters budget groups.

SOUTHWESTERN BELL - Nov. 77 through Oct. 83

Network Design Supervisor - Validated data, forecasted growth trends, wrote central office traffic orders and coordinated extensively with other departments in the computer design of electronic telephone offices.

Network Services Supervisor - Supervised and trained four clerks and was responsible for 125 central offices. Monitored central office data, reviewed traffic orders, published monthly reports, performed acceptance tests on data collection devices, and coordinated work with maintenance crews.

UNITED STATES AIR FORCE DUTY- Oct. 69 to Jul. 76

C-130 Aircraft Commmader and squadron scheduler for 140 officers and enlisted stationed at Little Rock AFB.

Senior Director - of Radar Weapons Control site for Northeast Thailand managing twelve officers and enlisted personnel.

USAF T-37 Flight Instructor USAF T-37 Flight Instructor at Sheppard AFB, Texas in the German/American Program. Last two years spent as a course developer and classroom instructor teaching navigation and flight planning as well as flying with students. This experience was one of my most rewarding training opportunities, unfortunately, due to my youth, I did not fully appreciate it at the time. I find it very satisfying to be able help individual learn and grow through my efforts.
